Environmental protection for kids

The pilot workshop

The study material was ready, but I still wanted to understand how the workshop would work in practice. To test this, I invited a group of children from the neighbourhood— a lovely mix of boys and girls aged 7 to 12 — to experience the full programme together.

Their reactions were encouraging. The children were engaged, curious, and enthusiastic throughout the activities. It was nice to see how naturally they interacted with the material and how quickly they connected with the environmental themes.

For me, the test run was just as insightful. I observed which activities captured their attention most strongly, which explanations worked best, and how the balance between playful learning and reflection supported their understanding. The variety of tasks — from visual exercises to creative challenges — kept the energy high and helped the children absorb the content in a meaningful way.

This trial confirmed that the workshop structure is effective, enjoyable, and well‑suited to this age group. With these insights, I’m excited to continue refining and delivering the programme.
